The Airspace Briefing provides the daily and updated allocation of airspace within the Nicosia FIR, issued through the AUP, UUP, and NUP messages. These official notices support the Flexible Use of Airspace (FUA) concept and ensure that all users operate with accurate and timely information on airspace availability, restrictions, and temporary activations.
The Airspace Use Plan (AUP) is an ASM message with NOTAM status that notifies the daily decision of the Airspace Management Cell regarding the temporary allocation of airspace within its jurisdiction. It is issued for a specific time period and follows a standardised message format.
The Updated Airspace Use Plan (UUP) is an ASM message with NOTAM status issued by the AMC to update and supersede the information contained in the AUP or any previous UUP.
Similar to the AUP, the National Use Plan (NUP) outlines the intended use of airspace. It is more general in scope, as it also includes airspaces not published centrally by the Network Manager but which are of local interest. It contains allocations for Permanent AMC-Manageable Areas (AMAs) as well as ad-hoc temporary AMC-Manageable areas.
