The Airspace Management Cell (AMC) operates as the joint civil–military coordination body for the Flexible Use of Airspace (FUA) within the Nicosia Flight Information Region (FIR). Under the Department of Civil Aviation, AMC promotes cooperation among all airspace users and stakeholders to ensure the safe, efficient, and balanced management of the airspace of the Republic of Cyprus, in line with European and national regulations.
The Joint Civil–Military Airspace Management Cell (AMC) has been housed and operating within the headquarters of the Department of Civil Aviation since October 2009, following Decision No. 67.662 of the Council of Ministers dated 24 September 2008.
To ensure the optimal and equitable management of airspace within the entire Nicosia Flight Information Region (FIR) through coordinated allocation and collaboration with all aviation stakeholders — enhancing airspace capacity, flexibility, security, and safety.
